LIA NICI WELCOMES THE CHAIR OF THE NATIONAL LOTTERY COMMUNITY FUND TO GRIMSBY

The Chair of the National Lottery Community Fund, Blondell Cluff CBE visited Grimsby on Monday 31 January. She was welcomed by Lia Nici, MP for Great Grimsby and held a meeting with representatives of local community groups.

The community groups represent a wide range of interests across all parts of Grimsby, and met at the Fusion Centre which, in the past, has been granted funds from the National Lottery.

Blondell encouraged the groups to apply for community funding from the National Lottery to support their causes. She outlined that this was what funding was intended for.

Apart from Wayne Bloy of the Fusion Centre, those included in the meeting were Hazel Chase from Project Pickle, Cannon John Ellis from the Shalom Youth Centre, Neil Barber from the West Marsh Community Centre, Lesley from the Littlecoates Community Centre, Bill Phillipson from the Park Ward Together and Joanne Routh from the Grimsby Ice Rink.

Great Grimsby MP Lia Nici said:

“It was a pleasure to meet Blondell Cluff this week. There are so many fantastic Community Groups in Grimsby who do great work. She was able to guide them into how to apply for National Lottery Community Funds. I will be supporting them in any bids and will set up regular meetings between groups to share their experiences”

Wayne Bloy of Fusion said:

I was very pleased to host the visit of Blondell Cluff and Lia Nici MP together with the other Community groups. At Fusion, we have benefitted from lottery funds which have helped us to develop our centre and services.
