Yesterday, I spoke in Education Questions to highlight my project ‘Opportunity Grimsby’, which is working with the John Whitgift Academy to provide students with meaningful, engaging and productive professional mentorship alongside local firms, from Year 8 through to Year 11.
My team and I have been working hard in partnership businesses in Grimsby to match students to placements which will provide them with key personal and professional skills, helping them to thrive once they leave school. I was delighted that Robert Halfon MP, the Skills and Apprentices Minister, agreed to visit Grimsby and check out the work that we’re doing.
Stay tuned to my social media for more information about Opportunity Grimsby, and if your organisation can help, then get in touch with me at lia.nici.mp@parliament.uk.
