I recently visited Creating Positive Opportunity (CPO) at Centre4, 17a Wootton Road, Grimsby.
Meeting with Steve and Fiona, we discussed what CPO do, and I learnt lots about their projects, all of which aim to motivate, educate, inform & inspire people of all ages.
Today was International Workers Memorial Day. I attended a small ceremony in Grimsby to lay a plastic-free, fully biodegradable wreath to commemorate the day and remember people killed or wounded around the world while doing their jobs.
I was invited to join the West Marsh Allotments Committee on Sunday to plant a tree with them and to receive the Golden Shovel, which is currently travelling around the country to celebrate the Community Payback Scheme’s 50th anniversary.
It's great news that Grimsby will be home to the biggest offshore wind 'living lab' in the world. This development further cements the fact that Grimsby is the home of offshore wind, and supports our area in its journey to attract more new and exciting technologies and opportunities.
Today, I had a further positive meeting with train minister Huw Merriman, along with the Managing Director of LNER David Horn, and Sir Edward Leigh and Martin Vickers.
