I visited the Grimsby & Cleethorpes Sea Cadets recently. This is a wonderful local community we have available to give young people access to opportunities and skills that help them to launch well in today's world.
Today is Great Grimsby Charter Day. On this day, we celebrate the town’s royal charter, signed on 11th March 1201. At the time, Grimsby was one of only seven towns to be awarded such privileges, such as setting local taxes.
Yesterday, I attended a Dentistry Roundtable with other Lincolnshire MPs.
This was a very needed opportunity to represent constituent issues regarding dentistry provision in our local area to colleagues in the Department for Health and Social Care.
Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Lucy Frazer KC visited Grimsby Town Football Club last week to meet with Martin and myself to announce the Fan Led Review for football.
I was delighted to attend The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for 'left behind' neighbourhoods last week with Billy Dasein from East Marsh United.
It was great to be invited to the Phillips 66 Apprentice Taster event last week.
Phillips 66 provides a 4-year apprenticeship program and supports the apprentice through to completion of a recognised level 3 Modern apprenticeship qualification.
I do refute the criticism and accusation that raw sewerage is 'being pumped into waterways'. The Government has put policies into place that mean we have more monitoring of sewerage than ever before.
I attended an event held to relaunch CPO (Creating Positive Opportunity) last week. I met with the Managing Director, Steve Ryder who updated me on their plans for the future.
